Named by the late Margaret Owen for the inward-rolled outer segments which give the large flowers a distinctive and stiffly triangular outline. The plant originated in the former Clun garden of the Revd. Blakeway-Phillips where Margaret spotted it growing the plants for many years before eventually applying the name.
